Hugo Aguilar avoids applauding Kenia López and then expresses "respect" for her on social media (Video)

MEXICO CITY (apro).- After being exposed for not applauding PAN representative Kenia López Rabadán during the ceremony marking the 178th anniversary of the Heroic Deed of the Boy Heroes, the new president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), Hugo Aguilar Ortiz, expressed his "respect" for the politician, who has just become president of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies.
During the official event on September 13, hosted by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the guests of honor were applauded as their names and positions were announced; however, when Representative López's turn came, the new leader of the Federal Judicial Branch remained seated and motionless.
The video began circulating on social media in the microcosm of Mexican politics, with criticism of the president of the Supreme Court of Justice for belittling the opposition politician, who has been a vocal opponent of judicial reform and the June 1 elections, in which Aguilar obtained the largest number of votes.
They said: Hugo Aguilar "A very straightforward and approachable judge" but also loyal to his own people. He applauds those in the 4T and abstains from voting with Kenia López Rabadán, who voted against the Judicial Reform. pic.twitter.com/aEQyUxDTY9

Hours after the event, Hugo Aguilar published a message on his X account, where he stated that he greeted Kenia López Rabadán at the event, and sent his "respect" to both her and the legislative branch.
I express my respect to Representative Kenia López Rabadán ( @kenialopezr ), President of the Chamber of Deputies, whom I greeted at the ceremony of the 178th anniversary of the Heroic Deed of Chapultepec. Likewise, I reiterate my recognition to the Legislative Branch, within the framework of respect... pic.twitter.com/WqhTc40qga — Hugo Aguilar Ortiz (@HugoAguilarOrti) September 14, 2025
This Sunday, the PAN representative also sought to quell the controversy, stating that "I'll stick with her tweeted response," and adding that in upcoming official events, "we will all continue to strengthen the institutions," according to a report in Reforma.
